Last night was definitely the highlight of the season thus far... Heading into the match with Canterbury, we had not had a golfer break 40 (except for at Eel River) all year long. Last night we had 2 golfers break the 40 barrier on our way to a season best 157. That's an average of under 40 for the 4 scores we counted. Not bad at all. The only problem: we played Canterbury, one of the best teams in the area. They shot a 151 to beat us by 6. Unbelievable. Still, the most important thing is that we finally started to play up to our potential! Zach DeWitt led us last night with a season-low (that's good) 37. He credits the lucky penny I loaned him. Justin Glick, his playing partner had a 39, making them the first group in my tenure as coach to both break 40. Aaron N. had a 40, Taylor a 41, Aaron K. a 43, Tegan a 45, and Neumeister a 48. It was good to see the guys finally put it all together. The funny thing is, if you asked them, they'd tell you they still could have knocked a couple strokes off... that's great because we still have 2 weeks before sectionals!
Tegan Wild with the beautiful finish on his approach shot on 9. Tegan finished with a 45.
Justin Glick just missed this birdie attempt on 9 as he settled for par and a solid 39.
